Retirement Accounts

It's never too early to establish a habit of saving. From infants to senior citizens, Community Bank & Trust offers savings accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to help you realize your financial goals.

Traditional IRA

The traditional IRA is an account which allows you to defer taxes on your earnings until they are withdrawn. Also, certain contributions are tax deductible in the tax year for which they are made.

Roth IRA

The Roth IRA is a non-deductible account that features tax-free withdrawals for qualifying reasons after a five-year period. It is suitable for people who do not qualify for a tax deductible IRA or who expect to be in a higher tax bracket when they retire.

Educational IRA

The Educational IRA, also known as CESA (Coverdell Education Savings Account) is created to help families save their children's education expenses. Contributions to this account are not deductible, but earning are tax deferred and distributions for qualified education expenses are tax free.

Money Market IRA

A Community Bank & Trust money market IRA is a great way to start your retirement plan. A minimum deposit of $100.00 will open this account. Interest is paid on the daily balance. Additional deposits can be made as determined by you.

Certificate of Deposit IRA

This IRA is based on the $10,000.00 certificate of deposit rates. Savers can open the Certificate of Deposit IRA for $500.00 minimum and still receive the higher rate of interest reserved for CD's of $10,000.00 or more. Call for a current list of CD and IRA rates.
